Banks and Currency

 

The Blue Aegean reception is open 24 hours a day and will happily exchange your travellers cheques, Cash, Euro Cheques, and any other worldwide currency. There are plenty of banks and exchange offices in Crete. Banks are open Mon-Fri 8am -2pm and most now offer cashpoint services 24 hours a day. The nearest cashpoint services in Gouves resort is opposite the Supermarket Manos about 800 metres from the Blue Aegean.

Directions: Head for the beach, turn left and follow coast road passed the church on the right. As you reach the hotel, turn left up the street and as you come to a junction by the car rental, turn left and continue to the supermarket. The cashpoint service is directly opposite.

The local currency in Crete is the Euro and the exchange rate is approximately
£1 = Euro 1.35 (August 2003).
